An epoxy floor coating turns a bare concrete garage or basement floor into a sealed, easy-to-clean surface. Golden Concrete Company offers epoxy floors for homeowners in Golden, Lakewood, Arvada and the west Denver metro.

Why coat a concrete floor?
- Resists oil, road salt and chemical stains
- Stops concrete dusting and makes the floor easy to sweep and mop
- Brightens the garage by reflecting light
- Decorative flake options hide dirt and add grip
How an epoxy floor is installed
- Surface preparation. The concrete is mechanically prepared so the coating can bond. This is the step that determines how long the floor lasts.
- Crack and joint repair. Cracks, pits and spalled areas are filled.
- Base coat. The colored base coat is applied.
- Decorative flake. Optional color flakes are broadcast into the wet base coat.
- Clear top coat. A protective top coat seals the floor.
Flake color options
Decorative flake comes in a range of color blends, from neutral grays to tans and blues. Popular blends include Domino, Wombat, Shoreline, Orbit and Outback. We will help you pick a blend that suits your garage or basement.

Is my floor a good candidate?
Coatings need sound, dry concrete. Floors with moisture coming up through the slab, heavy settling or widespread damage may need repair or a new garage floor first. New concrete needs to cure for about a month before it can be coated. We will check your floor during a free consultation.
How much does an epoxy floor cost?
Epoxy coatings typically cost $6.50 to $8 per square foot, with a $3,000 job minimum. The condition of the concrete and the amount of crack and surface repair affect the final price.
Common questions
How long does an epoxy floor take?
Most garage floors take a few days from preparation to top coat, followed by cure time before you park on it. We will give you a schedule for your floor when we quote it.
Will hot tires damage the coating?
Proper surface preparation and a quality top coat are what prevent hot-tire pickup. Thin do-it-yourself kits applied over unprepared concrete are the usual cause of peeling.
Is an epoxy floor slippery?
A smooth coating can be slick when wet. Flake and anti-slip additives give the surface texture.
